Flexible Paper Binding
various measurements
are flexible, non adhesive bindings that open wonderfully well, which makes them perfect for sketching. The sewing thechnique is strong and stable. I learned this binding with Hedi Kyle in the 90's when she came to teach in Ascona.
These books were born collaborating with the artist Gabriele Fettolini I met when I was living in Barcelona. One day, popping in his workshop, I saw a beautifully printed Japanese paper crumpled in the bin. I took it with me and we started collaborating putting together his lithographs with my foldings and bindings. I produced numerous books with his papers we sold during several exhibitions.
